As smartphones continue to evolve, taking on more storage, apps, and data, the batteries that power them do too. Some are reaching 4000mAh and greater. But that larger battery comes at a price: longer charge times. That’s where Qualcomm Quick Charge technology comes in.

Late last year, Qualcomm Technologies introduced Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0, the next generation of fast charging for devices powered by certain Qualcomm Snapdragon processors. Today, there is a diverse lineup of devices supporting our newest fast charging solution, including the HP Elite x3, HTC 10, LG G5, LeEco Le Max Pro, and Xiaomi Mi 5. These are in addition to the 70+ devices supporting Quick Charge 2.0, making Quick Charge the most popular fast-charging technology by a wide margin.

Quick Charge is a two-part solution. When paired with a Quick Charge-certified accessory, an enabled device can charge up to four times faster than conventional charging. Along with the most enabled devices, Quick Charge also boasts the most compatible accessories. Over 200 products — wall adapters, car adapters, power banks, and USB hubs — from more than 100 manufacturers feature the technology. Anker, APE Technology, AUKEY, Elecjar, Maxell, Tronsmart, and Verus Peripheral, among others, have released Quick Charge 3.0 products.

A phone with Quick Charge 3.0 can charge from zero to 80 percent in about 35 minutes, depending on charging implementation, battery capacity and other factors. It’s engineered to be twice as fast as Quick Charge 1.0 and up to 38 percent more efficient than Quick Charge 2.0. And the technology doesn’t discriminate: Quick Charge functions with multiple types of cables and connectors, including USB Type-C. In fact, several smartphones using both Quick Charge and USB Type-C and are available today.

Quick Charge accessories go through a rigorous certification process to ensure they meet the stringent requirements set forth by UL. Not sure if your accessory or device is the real thing? We’ve put together a list of verified devices and accessories featuring Quick Charge technology for you, which we update monthly.

After confirming that your accessory or device has integrated Qualcomm Quick Charge technology, kick back and relax. Your smartphone’s battery life is in good hands.
