What you should know:
  • Quick Charge 5+ is here building on a decade of trusted fast charging with smarter power delivery and optimized thermal performance.
  • Cooler, more consistent charging by intelligently adapting voltage and current to minimize heat, enabling sustained top speeds without throttling or thermal slowdowns.
  • Smarter efficiency, broad compatibility balances system and battery power for seamless performance while charging, and works across Snapdragon and non-Snapdragon platforms.

For over a decade, Qualcomm Quick Charge technology has been the trusted standard in fast charging, powering over 1 billion devices and accessories across smartphones, laptops, VR headsets, wireless speakers and more. When Quick Charge 5 launched in 2020, it set an industry benchmark as the first commercial 100W+ charging platform, taking devices from 0 to 50% in just five minutes while delivering up to 70% greater efficiency than its predecessor, without compromising on safety.*

Now, we’re excited to introduce Quick Charge 5+, the next evolution in fast charging. It builds on this proven foundation with the same reliable, high-speed performance, paired with cooler, more consistent charging and smarter, more efficient power delivery for compute devices.

Cooler charging, consistent performance

With Quick Charge 5+, you can push your device harder without worrying about overheating. The technology intelligently adapts voltage and current to your device’s needs, using lower voltage at higher currents, up to 20V at 7A, to minimize heat generation.

What that means for you:

  • Cooler operation: Sustained top speeds without throttling.
  • Stable performance: Work, game and stream without slowdowns.
  • Long-term battery health: Reduced thermal stress for better lifespan.

Other high voltage charging methods generate more heat, forcing devices to slow down charging to stay within safe limits. Quick Charge 5+ avoids those trade-offs, delivering both speed and stability.

Smarter power, greater efficiency

Quick Charge 5+ doesn’t just deliver speed, it’s designed to optimize how your device uses power. By intelligently recognizing which device it’s connected to and dynamically controlling power flow, performance isn’t compromised while charging.

The results:

  • Intelligent power allocation: Optimizes distribution between the system and the battery.
  • Lower cost, higher value: Reduced voltage approach lowers costs by an average of $2 per accessory on compute devices.

In comparison, solutions limited to 5A often rely on higher voltage to achieve more wattage, resulting in greater heat, lower efficiency and higher costs. Quick Charge 5+ takes a smarter, more efficient path.

Broad compatibility and availability

Quick Charge 5+ works across today’s devices and tomorrow’s innovations. It’s backward-compatible with Quick Charge 2.0, 3.0, 3.0+, 4.0, 4.0+, 5 and supports upcoming devices set to be revealed at Snapdragon Summit 2025. Quick Charge also works seamlessly with devices powered by non-Snapdragon platforms, delivering a charging experience equivalent to competitors' chargers.

Quick Charge 5+ is expected to begin rolling out in accessories later this year.

The future of charging

For over a decade, Quick Charge has defined what fast, safe and reliable charging looks like, powering more than a billion devices worldwide. With Quick Charge 5+ we’re raising the bar once again.

By combining cooler, consistent performance with smarter, more efficient power delivery, Quick Charge 5+ makes high-speed charging more practical, more affordable and more accessible than ever.
