The world’s first smartphone to support 135W charging is out

Using Qualcomm Quick Charge 5, the RedMagic 7 Pro can be fully charged and ready to go in about 15 minutes.

Imagine being able to charge your smartphone from 0-100% in less than 20 minutes. Sounds like an impossible task, right? Not if you are using the latest Snapdragon powered RedMagic 7 Pro. With a 5000mAh battery and 135W fast charging fueled by the latest Qualcomm Quick Charge 5 technology, the RedMagic 7 Pro will be fully charged and ready to go in about 15 minutes.

When we announced Quick Charge 5 in mid-2020, we brought you the world’s fastest commercial charging technology in the Android market. Today, we are sharing with you the world’s first 135W stest charging phone — using Quick Charge 5 technology. This would not have been possible without the new generation of premium tier power management ICs (PMICS) — the Qualcomm SMB1396 and the Qualcomm SMB1399 — which are the building blocks for charging stack-cell batteries in phones. By leveraging our unique architecture, phone manufactures can enjoy significantly higher battery efficiency while using of a smaller-sized battery. Moreover, the solution is scalable to accommodate a variety of different power requirements — helping simplify new designs.

If you're concerned about heat, the device follows multiple safety protocols, including Qualcomm Smart Identification of Adapter Capabilities technology, which work together to maximize power transfer efficiency, increase safety, and help extend the battery life cycle on a users’ device.

This new announcement by Nubia really shows how fast charging is growing at scale and how much Quick Charge technology has evolved over the years. Stay tuned for the global launch of the RedMagic 7 Pro.
