Snapdragon Wear powered ASUS ZenWatch 3: more than just a pretty (smartwatch) face

Don’t just take the ASUS ZenWatch 3 at face value. ASUS’ latest smartwatch is built with convenience and customization in mind. The device breaks away from the rectangular mold of its predecessors with a new circular display and features the Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 2100 processor. Thanks to the compact, ultra-low-power processor, the ZenWatch 3 is incredibly thin, but packs a punch.

The ASUS ZenWatch 3 is as stylish as it is utilitarian, and runs on the Android Wear operating system. Through the ZenWatch Manager app there are more than 50 watch faces to choose from for the 1.39-inch AMOLED screen. The smartwatch features three crown buttons that are designed to provide quick access to frequently used functions. The top button is customizable and can be programmed to link to your favorite app or feature. The middle button allows you to switch to the watch’s display modes. The bottom button is for enhanced power efficiency and extends battery life even further.

The device also comes with the all-new ZenFit app, a unique tracker designed to track activity automatically—walking, running, push-ups, and sit-ups—with 95 percent accuracy. To keep your physical momentum going, the app encourages you to stand and move at different intervals throughout the day. And as a complement to the ZenFit smartphone app, the data collected is documented in helpful summaries and graphs, creating a complete picture of your physical activity.

The ZenWatch 3 features HyperCharge technology, compatible with Qualcomm Quick Charge technology, engineered to give the 340mAh battery a 60 percent charge in 15 minutes. And in case you can’t conveniently power up, a separate, interchangeable battery pack provides up-to an additional 40 percent more battery life.

Choose from a variety of styles, including three finishes: Gunmetal, Silver, or Rose Gold, paired with a strap made from a choice of stitched Italian leather or high-quality rubber, each available in dark brown or beige.
