Being a Snapdragon Insider is nearly synonymous with being a top-notch mobile photographer. We have an abundance of photography talent in the Snapdragon Insiders community. That’s why each month we create a new challenge to highlight your incredible skill behind the lens. And each and every month, you blow us away with your #ShotOnSnapdragon photos.
We all know devices powered by Snapdragon take the best photos. That’s the power of Snapdragon® camera technology — which we recently got an in-depth look at in this Q&A with Qualcomm Technologies’ resident camera expert, Judd Heape (VP, Product Management, Camera, Computer Vision, and Video at Qualcomm Technologies, Inc.). But beyond just the technology, we wanted to share some tips and tricks from Snapdragon Insiders on how to level up your photography game.
Enter the May #ShotOnSnapdragon challenge: #HowIGotTheShot.
We wanted to see how our community captures some of their best #ShotOnSnapdragon pics, and wow, the results speak for themselves. Without further ado, here’s some of our favorite tips, tricks, and photos from this challenge. Be sure to check out the original posts (linked in the images) to see the full details of how they got the shot.
Use your resources
No tripod? No problem! Debayan (@DebayanBag on X) showed us how to use our environment to capture perfect time lapse photos. A rock is basically nature’s tripod, anyway.
Play with perspective
The ordinary becomes extraordinary with a simple change in perspective. Nikshep (@framesbynikshep on X) took a toy car and a notebook and created something stunning.
Be persistent — and patient
The best shots are worth waiting for. S M A Sithick (@smasithick on X) showed us that when photographing skittish subjects — like deer — patience, persistence, and a camera powered by Snapdragon go a long way to capturing a beautiful moment.
Utilize unique devices for special shots
Smartphones with special capabilities unlock new opportunities for photography. Rajeev (@Rajeevprpr on X) used his Samsung Galaxy Z Flip5 to capture skateboarding tricks.
Use video to capture the perfect moment
Videography is photography’s best friend. As Ajeesh (@Ajeesh021997 on X) showed us, by filming video first, you ensure you’re capturing the perfect moment to pull stills from later.
Don’t be afraid to accessorize
Your smartphone powered by Snapdragon is all you need to capture incredible mobile photography, but it’s still fun to play with accessories from time to time. Mikael (@M1K4_3L on X) added a photography kit to his Xiaomi 14 Ultra to capture the stunning Chicago skyline.
Find great locations and subjects
And finally, you can’t go wrong with a great background or a willing subject, as our friends at the Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS F1 Team showcased with their entries.
