It’s time to spotlight another incredible member of our global community. This month, we’re chatting with someone who has some firsthand experience with the tech everyone is talking about — Copilot+ PCs powered by Snapdragon® X Series platforms. Meet Prateeka (@prateekakamath on Instagram and X), our July Snapdragon Insider of the Month who recently returned from Computex in Taiwan.
Prateeka is a passionate technology lover (who has a degree in electrical engineering!), a world traveler, and of course, a big fan of Snapdragon. Before we get into her Q&A, here’s a quick word from Prateeka:
Prateeka - July Insider of the Month

What originally sparked your interest in technology?
My earliest memory of technology was when I was five years old and I visited a power plant to see where electricity is generated. Everything was so massive and I felt so tiny in comparison, and it blew my mind. But my real passion for technology took root when I was 15 years old. My interest started because I really like physics, which helps us understand the universe, and electricity, specifically how electricity moves in the world. My dad is an engineer, so he helped show me how power is created and fostered my natural interest in these subjects. I knew I wanted to become an engineer as well so I went on to get my electrical engineering degree.
Pick one to describe you: audiophile, photographer, gamer, all-around tech enthusiast.
I’m an all-around tech enthusiast. I really love communication and connecting with people, and it’s crazy to think about how technology enables that. Ten years ago, I couldn’t connect with 10,000 people in ten seconds. Now I can do that, not only via text on X, but I can livestream videos in 4K quality — that’s mind-blowing.
What’s your favorite memory as a Snapdragon Insider?
My favorite memory has to be attending Computex in Taiwan. Not only was it a fantastic event, but I got to connect with Snapdragon Insiders from around the world. There were several of us there and we all brought different perspectives. It was great to see how our opinions vary. Our love of technology brought us together, but we still have very different takes on what that looks like and what that means to us. Connecting with my fellow Snapdragon Insiders over the span of the trip was the opportunity of a lifetime.
You were in Taipei for Computex to see all the action with the Snapdragon X Series platforms. What was your favorite part of the event?
My favorite part of the event was just seeing the shared love of tech with everyone there. Walking around the show floor, I’d see so many people and their eyes were just sparkling with joy. It’s rare to see that now, so often people are just glued to their phones. But at Computex, everyone was looking around and having their minds blown at the technology. Not even just the exciting things like drones and cameras, but the improvements in mundane things like garbage disposals — there were so many different use cases and technology sectors. I loved how, while some of the things may not be as interesting to me, it was absolutely fascinating to someone else. It was just really fun to see everyone’s reaction to the event and see the joy on their faces.
What are you most excited about with the Snapdragon X Series platforms?
I’m most excited about the live translation. One of the Snapdragon Insiders on this trip was from Japan and he only spoke Japanese, so we used the live translation feature to converse with him, and seeing the live translation in action was really insane to me. I travel frequently and I can’t wait to use this again. It’s not just that it can translate, it's that it can accurately identify the language as it hears it and translate it so quickly. We tested it with many languages in the group: Korean, Japanese, and Hindi. It was crazy that I could speak Hindi to someone speaking Japanese and the translation was so fast.
Aside from the live translation, I’m really excited about the AI integrations. I already use Chat GPT, Gemini and other LLMs, so the fact that AI will be natively included in the PC itself is awesome. Instead of “here’s my PC and here’s this separate program,” it’s going to be one intuitive system. These new devices are super fast and the battery life lasts over a day, even with video streaming. It’s crazy that we’ve come so far in such a short amount of time — I remember using floppy disks as a kid and now we’re here!
Something that came up at Computex that really stuck with me is that these devices are built for the future as well as today. It takes so much predictive analysis and human intelligence, not just artificial intelligence, to make these systems something that you’ll still want to use years down the road, and Snapdragon has done that.
What feature or capability of devices powered by Snapdragon do you find most useful?
Aside from live translation, I would say video editing. I post a lot of videos and editing used to be such a pain, but now it just keeps getting easier and easier. I like to edit on my laptop for the bigger screen and PCs with Snapdragon X Series are going to make it even easier and better.
