CES in Las Vegas is quickly becoming an important showcase for innovations in the automotive industry, and with good reason. Every year, the latest cars boast more and more advanced features, including enhanced display technologies, built-in GPS, 3G/4G LTE connectivity, integrated Wi-Fi hot spots, and HD video capability.
Adding connectivity, awareness and intelligence to vehicles is helping to define an entirely new landscape for communication, convenience, energy efficiency, infotainment, and safety that we are proud to be a part of. Qualcomm Technologies has provided in-car connectivity solutions for over 25 years, and this week at CES 2016, we’ll demonstrate the Qualcomm Snapdragon 602A processor integrated in an Audi Q7 at the Qualcomm booth in Central Hall, # 8643/8952.
Also announced was the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 Automotive processor family, next-generation system-on-chips (SoCs), available with or without an integrated Snapdragon X12 LTE modem. With the announcement of the Snapdragon 820A family, Qualcomm Technologies is providing the foundation for the next generation of infotainment platforms that will become available over the coming years.
In addition Qualcomm Technologies offers a number of technologically advanced automotive solutions, including:
These last two technologies are new additions to the Qualcomm Automotive Solutions family following the recent acquisition of CSR, which has allowed us to further enrich the rapidly advancing connected car ecosystem by offering end-to-end automotive solutions that scale across all tiers.
Having such a uniquely rich portfolio of integrated and discrete technologies is vital in order for Qualcomm Technologies to continue enabling our automotive customers to develop and deliver advanced in-car features to drivers everywhere. What kinds of features? Think leading edge vehicle-to-everything (V2X) communications, Qualcomm Zeroth Machine Intelligence to enable driver assistance features (ADAS) using cognitive computing and computer vision, a seamless interface to the Internet of Things, and more energy-efficient vehicles. Get ready, drivers.
If you’re at CES, come check out demonstrations of these and other industry-leading automotive technology solutions at our CES Qualcomm Automotive Booth, North Hall number 915, and at the Qualcomm Booth in Central Hall, number 8252, at the Las Vegas Convention Center.
