Nothing gets us more excited than seeing our customers release innovative new audio devices. And the demand for devices that offer immersive gaming experiences, amazing sound quality, and high definition voice calls has never been greater. We are excited to see Vivo announce its next generation of great sounding earbuds, the Vivo TWS Earphone Neo, based on our recently announced Qualcomm QCC3046 Bluetooth Audio SoC. The QCC3046 is designed to help our customers elevate the truly wireless consumer experience and deliver amazing sound by supporting more robust and superior connectivity, seamless user experiences, and lower power consumption for prolonged use.
Lowest latency wireless audio for immersive mobile gaming
The Qualcomm State of Play 2019 Report shows that while mobile gaming is growing rapidly, the use of headphones and earbuds is also growing, with 32 percent of smartphone owners surveyed using wireless headphones while they play — and in China, the rate is even higher at 41 percent. To help create the best possible user experience, the Vivo TWS Earphone Neo utilize Qualcomm aptX Adaptive technology, which helps achieve a latency of just 88ms, supporting fully synchronized audio and video content with no lag between what a gamer sees on screen and hears in their earbuds.
Designed for a seamless user experience
The Vivo TWS Earphone Neo also incorporates next generation Qualcomm TrueWireless Mirroring technology, which is designed to deliver a simple and seamless user experience. With current Bluetooth technology, only one bud at a time can be wirelessly connected to the phone. However, Qualcomm TrueWireless Mirroring technology is engineered to easily swap between the earbud connected to the phone and the other that mirrors the connection.
For example, if the user removes the connected bud from their ear, the bud that was mirroring the connection will take over, so there’s no interruption in an active voice call or music stream. A role swap may also occur if the RF connectivity for the mirroring bud is detected to be stronger than the connected bud — perhaps due to the proximity of the user’s mobile phone. So, if the user’s phone is in a pocket or in either hand, the best connection occurs. In that case, the connection is designed to seamlessly swap from one ear bud to the other, creating a superior experience with no audio dropouts — and the listener won’t be aware that the swap took place.
Robust connectivity, never miss a beat
Thanks to the support of aptX Adaptive, the Vivo TWS Earphone Neo can maintain a robust Bluetooth connection without interrupting your music, call, or gaming experience. aptX Adaptive is uniquely engineered to vary the bitrate, automatically ensuring optimum audio quality if a user is listening to music or reducing latency if they’re using their devices for gaming. It’ll also automatically scale back the bitrate in a busy RF environment to reduce dropouts and glitching.
