No more dead zones in the home: meet the NETGEAR Orbi Wi-Fi System

You’re binge-watching Netflix in the living room, your significant other is listening to the new Frank Ocean album on wireless speakers in the next room, and your daughter is doing her homework online. This is the bustling state of home Wi-Fi in 2016, and it’s only becoming more frenzied as we connect more devices to the internet.

The problem is that a sizeable portion of our routers, especially older models, can’t handle this bandwidth uptick, nor can they cover every corner of our homes with Wi-Fi that’s easy to access. We try to compensate with high-speed internet or range extenders, but neither adequately addresses the real issue. The Orbi does more to spread uninterrupted Wi-Fi throughout your home: Behind the scenes, it uses Qualcomm Wi-Fi SON technology that’s designed to make sure the network highways and byways are always flowing smoothly. For instance, Wi-Fi SON can detect bottlenecks or dead spots, and redirect traffic to avoid a slow-down. And for those of us who don’t have a degree in network management, Wi-Fi SON can make it easy to set up a Wi-Fi network, add new devices to it, and keep the network running in top form without constant intervention.

Orbi is built to work with your internet service provider’s gateway or modem right out of the box and uses a single Wi-Fi name (SSID), making it essentially a plug-and-play Wi-Fi system. It also works to minimize the struggle to get reliable coverage in every corner of your home. Simply connect the Orbi router to the internet gateway and place the satellite near the center of your home to secure a fast, stable, secure, and rewarding Wi-Fi network.

Eliminating lag, buffering, and dead zones is important today, and will be even more so in a few years, when our homes are likely to contain even more internet-connected devices competing for bandwidth.
