HP Elite x3 with Microsoft Continuum and Snapdragon 820 is the world’s first 3-in-1

8 Oct 2016

Qualcomm products mentioned within this post are offered by Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. and/or its subsidiaries.

The HP Elite x3 is engineered to bring the mobility and capabilities of a smartphone, the convenience and large display of a tablet, and the processing power and productivity of a PC into a single 6” mobile device. It does this through a clever set of HP peripherals and cloud services, Microsoft's Continuum for Windows 10, and the PC-class processing power of its Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor. And it's available today in select regions.

Built for business

The HP Elite x3 is the first commercially announced Windows 10 mobile device that's powered by the Snapdragon 820. The Snapdragon 820 is the first processor to support a big Windows experience from a mobile device, designed to bring the performance, consistent connectivity, and long battery life needed for maximum mobility, productivity, and enterprise workplace scenarios.

The integrated Snapdragon X12 LTE modem is engineered to deliver quick download and upload speeds, as well as more consistent connectivity—even where Wi-Fi isn't available. From multiparty video conference calls, to long video editing sessions, to sending that completed video to your client, the HP Elite x3 and Snapdragon 820 processor are designed to give you the flexibility and performance you need for maximum mobility and productivity.

Comprehensive productivity

Through Microsoft's Continuum for Windows 10, a smart set of HP peripherals and HP Workspace, the HP Elite x3 is made to deliver flexibility and new ways of working from a mobile device. Continuum helps the Elite x3 to power or project to a second screen, with apps opening full screen on the larger display—and to connect a keyboard and mouse.

With the HP Workspace application virtualization service, enterprise IT departments can virtualize any 32 and 64-bit Windows desktop application, so you can start a task on the go and finish it at your desk without saving, synching, or restarting. By simply docking your HP Elite x3, you can transition quickly from a small screen to a larger display, and work in your favorite business applications with a mouse and keyboard. For IT departments, HP Workspace offers a turnkey service that is designed to make it quick and easy to virtualize business applications without time-consuming setup, virtualization infrastructure or dedicated personnel.

Announced earlier this year, the device has been commercially available in select regions since August.
