The Axon 7 by ZTE brings the movie theater to your pocket with Snapdragon 820

If you crave booming audio, 20 megapixel-quality images, and fast, battery-saving processing, odds are you’re going to love the new Axon 7 by ZTE.

The Axon 7 builds on a number of the cutting-edge features of last year’s Axon Pro and introduces several more, making it one of the most powerful and beautifully designed flagship smartphones available today.

Powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor, the Axon 7 is engineered to meet the evolving needs of media-crazed mobile users who are constantly gaming and streaming—and expecting more from their smartphones. Thanks to the 820’s integrated Qualcomm Adreno 530 GPU and Qualcomm Kryo CPU, the Axon 7 has the computing power and intelligence to deliver console-quality graphics and blazing speeds without interruption.

How does this hardware stack up to previous iterations? The Adreno 530 GPU offers 40 percent better graphics performance, compute capabilities, and power usage than the Adreno 430. And because the Snapdragon 820 comes with the X12 LTE modem, Axon 7 users are able to enjoy 33 percent faster download speeds than the X10 offered.

Audio is also front and center with the Axon 7. The company collaborated with music conservatory professors to design one of the first mobile devices with Hi-Fi audio. Inside the phone, the Snapdragon 820 powers front-facing speakers, Dolby Atmos surround sound, and a dedicated audio chipset for Hi-Fi playback and recording. So users can enjoy roaring, directional audio, Hi-Fi playback, and microphones capable of capturing voices up to 23 feet away.

Today’s mobile users aren’t only consuming media at a rapid clip; they’re also feverishly creating it. This means that the newest generation of smartphones must possess technology that supports and captures high-quality images. Unfortunately, many don’t, and you probably know that from the off-center, poorly-lit photos you’ve likely snapped with an older smartphone.

Not to worry with the Axon 7, which is designed to deliver a high quality smartphone camera experience. It includes a 20-megapixel rear camera with F/1.8 aperture for low-light situations, and optical image stabilization for clearer photos and smoother video. The Axon 7’s camera capabilities are also boosted by the Qualcomm Spectra ISP and Qualcomm Hexagon 680 DSP with HVX (Hexagon Vector eXtensions) technologies, which aid in removing visual noise, capturing more colors, and speeding up image processing. The Axon 7 also boasts an 8-megapixel front-facing camera, ready to capture superior selfies.

None of these features are much good if they drain your battery. Because today’s mobile users are always on, they need battery and power advances to move in lockstep with imaging and audio upgrades. That’s why Snapdragon 820 is equipped with technologies that help the Axon 7 work smarter, such as Qualcomm Symphony System Manager for managing task scheduling and power management, and the Qualcomm All-Ways Aware hub for regulating sensor usage and image processing. When Axon 7 phones do need some replenishment, they can take advantage of Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 technology, designed to deliver an up-to 50 percent charge in 30 minutes.

The Axon 7 is available for pre-order now on major online retailer sites, and at the ZTE web site
