Dell debuts Snapdragon powered wireless monitors, modernizing the workstation

The modern workforce is mobile, equipped with tablets, 2-in-1s, laptops and smartphones, working at locations of their choosing. But what about the modern workstation?

Thanks to Dell and Qualcomm Snapdragon, the workstation is getting a much-needed recalibration. With two new wireless monitors, the preferred, mobile devices of the modern workforce can easily connect to the classic desk arrangement monitor, making the office—and the home—much more mobile-friendly.

The Dell UltraSharp 24 Wireless Monitor and the Dell 23 Wireless Monitor are both equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor, enabling users to manage and share content wirelessly from up-to two devices, a Windows notebook and Android smartphone, at the same time. Both products feature connectivity support for 802.11ac 2x2 Wi-Fi, Miracast, and HDMI  letting either enterprise users or home office users manage multiple devices wirelessly through an array of connectivity options. In addition, the Dell 23 Wireless monitor comes with a built in wireless charging stand.

For conference rooms and legacy HDMI–enabled monitors and TVs, Qualcomm Technologies is releasing its reference design Snapdragon 810 based wireless dongle to bring in the same wireless docking benefits. The wireless dongle offers a similar cable-like connection wirelessly with your Windows and Android based devices—just plug in and share—and supports USB 3.0 speeds, 2x2 .11ac Wi-Fi, and HDMI, along with stunning 4K Ultra HD streaming. A USB hub supports a USB keyboard, a mouse, storage peripherals, a webcam, and speakers.

The Dell UltraSharp Wireless Monitors have just earned a CES 2016 Innovation Award, which honors “outstanding design and engineering in consumer technology products.” Check out Dell’s Wireless Monitor and the Qualcomm Technologies’ reference design HDMI dongle for wireless docking demo at the Qualcomm Booth.
