At IFA 2015 today, Sony introduced its latest flagship smartphone series, the Xperia Z5—including the Xperia Z5 Premium, which the company says is the first in the world to feature a 4K display. The Z5 will have the same sleek OmniBalance design as its Xperia Z siblings and comes in three versions: standard, compact, and premium, all featuring the powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor.

The Xperia Z5 series touts leading camera technology with a 23-megapixel rear camera, 5-megapixel front camera, and lightning-quick autofocus technology. Captured moments can be viewed on the Xperia Z5 Compact’s 4.6-inch display screen (1280 x 720 resolution), the Xperia Z5 standard’s 5.2-inch screen (1920 x 1080), or the Xperia Z5 Premium’s 5.5-inch screen with a 4K resolution of 3840 x 2160 pixels, for an unrivaled sharp and vivid display. All three come with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage, with the standard and premium Z5 models offering dual SIM versions.

The 64-bit capable Snapdragon 810 processors with integrated X10 modem are engineered to support 4G LTE download speeds of up to 300 Mbps and upload speeds of up to 50 Mbps, designed for glitch-free video streaming, smooth multi-tasking, superior graphics and gaming experience, and fast Web browsing, all while keeping power consumption low. And its IP68 rating means that the device is protected from dust and from long term immersion under water.

The Xperia Z5 series boasts impressive power management technology, supporting battery life for up to two days. And for users in a hurry, all three versions are equipped with Qualcomm Quick Charge 2.0, which charges your phone up to 75 percent faster than conventional charging technologies when used with a certified Quick Charge charger.

The Xperia Z5 and Z5 Compact are expected to be globally available in October 2015, and the Xperia Z5 Premium in November 2015. Learn more about the Sony Xperia Z5 series at the Sony web site.
