In 2013 we introduced the first of our premium tier Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 series processors. We’ve continued to push the envelope with new processors supporting the latest features and mobile experiences for the world's most advanced smartphones and tablets. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 processor with X10 LTE is a perfect example of that commitment.

The Snapdragon 808 is a significant upgrade from previous generation Snapdragon 800 series processors, combining a powerful multi-core CPU with support for 64-bit processing, our leading integrated X10 LTE modem, dual ISPs and advanced camera features, Adreno 418 GPU, and QHD on-device display support. The Snapdragon 808 is uniquely positioned to support streamlined premium tier mobile user experiences, from immersive online 3D gaming at QHD resolution on the go and at home, to capturing and quickly posting super sharp photos to your favorite social media accounts.

X10 LTE Connectivity

X10 LTE supports Category 9 download speeds of up to 450 Mbps by combining up to three 20MHz LTE channels at once. Bandwidth-intensive tasks are supported with impressive responsiveness and power efficiency, and X10 LTE’s optimized integration with the Qualcomm RF360 front-end solution means support for a larger number of mobile network technologies and bands.  The result is support for breathtaking 4G LTE speeds on more networks at home and around the world.

And when it comes to connectivity indoors, 802.11ac Wi-Fi technology with MU-MIMO (Multi-User Multiple-Input and Multiple-Output) from Qualcomm Atheros can be added to deliver up to 3x faster Wi-Fi to every smartphone, computer and TV in your home or business when paired with routers that also support this capability. Miracast integration also means you can mirror games, as well as videos, on an external display without the need for cables or even a network connection.

Stunning QHD Display Graphics and Gaming

FlexRender is designed to deliver complex graphics efficiently by intelligently switching between rendering modes, while advanced rendering techniques like hardware tessellation bolster the rich 3D graphics. The Adreno 418 supports up to 20% faster performance than its predecessor, while keeping energy consumption low.

You might think that high-quality graphics and 3D gaming would still take a heavy toll on the battery, but the heterogeneous computing design of Snapdragon processors enables the Hexagon DSP to offload some of the heavy tasks from the CPU, keeping performance high and energy consumption low.
