Introducing the Snapdragon 810 and 808 Processors: “The Ultimate Connected Computing” Experience [VIDEO]

What happens when you put your smartphone or tablet into airplane mode? You’re either complying with a by-the-book flight attendant or you’re rewinding the clock a decade to when you had to lug a bulky laptop between cafés with a Wi-Fi hotspot. In today’s world, mobility and computational power mean little without a connection to that world.

That is why we are very pleased to introduce the latest processors to our Qualcomm® Snapdragon™ 800 series: the Snapdragon 810 and 808.  These are our highest performing mobile processors to date with our most advanced 4G LTE connections yet. Each is designed to deliver more of what you want, wherever you want it, and use less power than any other mobile processor with integrated 4G LTE and 64-bit computing performance… all packed into a single chip.

To help get you the fastest connection through the fattest data pipes, the Snapdragon 810 and 808 processors support 3x20MHz carrier aggregation designed to reach CAT 6 speeds of up to 300 Mbps. Imagine three lanes of traffic bringing data to your device compared to a single congested lane. Again, this colossal connected capability is all inside the Snapdragon 810 and 808 processors.

The Snapdragon 810 processor is also designed to support the most advanced and comprehensive 4K Ultra HD experiences. It supports a native 4K resolution within your device and external 4K displays. It supports 4K HEVC (H.265) capture (encode) and 4K playback (decode). So if you want to create your own 4K movie, and share it with your friends in all of its 4096 × 2160 glory on your device or your home theater, the Snapdragon 810 is a one-stop shop.

Finally, the Snapdragon 810 processor is powered by the first 14-bit camera dual image signal processors (ISP) for smartphones. The dual ISPs together support image capture up to 55 MP or produce an HDR video. You read that right, not just an HDR photo, but a full HDR video. And because the only thing sadder than a selfie is a selfie that cannot be shared, remember you can upload these high-res images and HDR videos faster with the Snapdragon processor’s 4th generation 4G LTE solution.
