Android 4.4, code name KitKat, has been available for nearly a month and a half, and in recent days and weeks, upgrade plans to the new OS have been announced for a wide variety of hardware devices.

- Motorola - Motorola has clarified its upgrade plans for the Droid Maxx and Moto G smartphones, saying that all devices in that line will be upgraded to KitKat by January 2014. Users of the Moto X should have the update already. Finally, if you have an older Motorola phone (but not too old), there's a good chance you'll be eligible for KitKat at some point too, including some phones in the Droid Ultra, Droid Mini, Droid Razr, and Atrix lines. As always, your best bet for the most recent information on your phone's upgrade eligibility can be found by entering your device information on the company's upgrade website.
- HTC - HTC says the HTC One will receive its KitKat upgrade by the end of January (the Google Play edition of the phone has already been updated), in line with its original intent to get the update out within 90 days of 4.4's launch. Updates for the HTC One Mini, HTC One Max, and HTC Droid DNA will be coming after the HTC One is updated.
- Google - Google's Nexus 4 and Nexus 7 have already received the 4.4 update. In fact, updates to the latest version of KitKat, 4.4.2, have begun being pushed out (including on the new Nexus 5). Google previously confirmed that the original Google Nexus (with no model number trailing it) is not being upgraded.
- Samsung - Samsung's Galaxy S4 Google Play Edition has already been upgraded. There's been considerable discussion of a large number of older model Samsung phones (including non-Google Play Edition Galaxy S4 phones) also seeing this upgrade in the future, but nothing concrete has been announced.
- Sony - Sony has revealed it will be updating a number of Xperia devices, including the Z, Z1, ZL, Z Ultra, and Tablet Z, to KitKat, but it still hasn't given any details on a timeline for the rollout.
