Overview
Get ready, New York – the final chapter of our Edge AI Developer Hackathon series is landing at NYU on September 13-14!
This isn’t a recap – it’s a culmination. The energy, innovation, and ambition built across our event series all lead to the moment. This finale is designed for teams to bring their boldest ideas to life using edge AI technologies.
Students and industry professionals will form teams of 3-5 to build next-gen on-device applications on Copilot+ PCs powered by Snapdragon® X Series processors.

Each team of three to five developers will receive one Copilot+ PC with the Snapdragon X Elite to develop an AI application during the event. Spots are limited!
Only one project proposal submission per person is allowed.

Rules and regulations
Eligibility Criteria:
- Age Requirement: Participants must be at least 18 years of age at the time of registration
- Open to teams of 3 to 5 developers
- Exclusions:
- Individuals who are affiliated with any government agencies or state-owned entities.
- Individuals who are a Restricted Person.
Hackathon Rules:
- One proposal submission: Only one project proposal submission per team is allowed.
- Project Submission: Only registered participants are allowed to submit a project for evaluation at the end of the hackathon.
Project Submission Requirements:
To be considered for the prize, your project submission must meet the following criteria:
- The application must be provided in a GitHub repository with the following files in addition to your code:
- A README file with the following information:
- An app description
- Dev names and emails
- Setup instructions from scratch, including dependencies if applicable
- Run and usage instructions
- An open-source license (refer to https://choosealicense.com for help choosing)
- A packaged executable file for windows (.EXE) that includes all functionality for the app to streamline judging and Windows app store submission. A packaged windows app (.MSIX) is also acceptable
- A README file with the following information:
- the application must be runnable using your provided instructions
- the application and most components must run on the edge (hybrid edge/cloud is ok but majority should run locally)
- the GitHub repo must be submitted by the hackathon deadline
- A link to your GitHub repo must be provided via a Microsoft Form submission. Form will be shared at the beginning of the hackathon event
- Nice to have, but not required, components include:
- Tests and testing instructions to verify the app setup
- Notes section containing additional information not covered in the app description
- References used while developing the app
- Well-commented code
Prize Award Rules:
- Number of Winners: Two teams will be awarded prizes at the conclusion of the hackathon.
- Top Award (Selected by Judges)
- Team’s Choice Award (Voted on by all participating teams)
- Top Award Selection: The top award will be awarded to the team with the highest total score based on the evaluation criteria provided. Judges will evaluate each team across four categories.
- Tiebreaking: If two or more submissions are tied, the tied submission with the highest score in the first applicable criterion listed above will be considered the higher scoring Submission. In the event any ties remain, this process will be repeated, as needed, by comparing the tied submissions’ scores on the next applicable criterion. If two or more submissions are tied on all applicable criteria, the panel of Judges will vote on the tied submissions.
- Team’s Choice Award: The Team’s Choice Award will be awarded based on peer voting. Each participating team will cast one vote for a team (other than their own) they believe deserves recognition. The team with the highest number of votes will receive the Team’s Choice Award.
- Voting Restrictions:
- Teams cannot vote for themselves.
- In the event of a tie, organizers will conduct a secondary round of voting or make the final decision at their discretion.

Eligibility for Prizes: Only teams that have submitted a project that meets the Project Submission Guidelines by the hackathon deadline and have provided a demo will be eligible for either award.
