Mahindra Selects Snapdragon Digital Chassis to Provide Real-Time Data Insights to Enhance Vehicle Functionality and Streamline Production
Highlights:
- Mahindra becomes first automaker to globally use Data Insights with edge diagnostics from Snapdragon Digital Chassis’ cloud-connected services platform to fine-tune vehicles during pre-production testing
- Data Insights with edge diagnostics empowers automakers to improve cost efficiencies by utilizing actionable insights to correct errors and enhance user experiences
- Announcement marks extended relationship between Mahindra and Qualcomm following collaboration on Scorpio-N and XUV700 SUVs with Snapdragon Cockpit Platforms
Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. and Mahindra & Mahindra, a pioneer in the SUV segment in India, today announced the companies’ strategic collaboration to utilize the Snapdragon® Digital Chassis™ Solution cloud-connected services platform – an integrated, flexible services suite for connected cars – for upcoming Mahindra’s range of authentic SUVs. As a key component of the cloud-connected services platform, Data Insights with edge diagnostics is designed to provide data-driven diagnostics to help Mahindra better understand and enhance how its SUVs will perform in real-world environments. Utilized during pre-production vehicle testing, Mahindra will have the benefit of accessing real-time analysis of in-vehicle data to discover and correct errors, resulting in cost reduction and accelerated development processes. Mahindra will be the first global automaker to utilize Data Insights with edge diagnostics, which is available on the Snapdragon Digital Chassis platform.
Data Insights with edge diagnostics allows automakers to:
- Collect and analyze information on problems found during development and testing, such as system and application errors and crashes, memory exhaustion, and more.
- In near real time flag and prioritize unresponsive vehicle systems to engineers to resolve issues with standard in-car safety and infotainment systems.
- Store, search, archive and filter data logs on the cloud.
This technology collaboration is an extension of the existing relationship between Mahindra and Qualcomm Technologies. The companies recently worked together to supply Snapdragon® Cockpit Platforms for Scorpio-N and XUV700 SUVs to deliver world-class, transformative in-vehicle experiences to drivers and passengers alike. Leveraging the scalable artificial-intelligence (AI)-based Snapdragon Cockpit Platforms, these SUVs offer new levels of personalization and natural interaction between the vehicle and its driver, as well as virtual assistance, and ultra-HD, and immersive audio and visual experiences among other features.
“We are thrilled to announce our technology collaboration with Qualcomm Technologies. Their proven expertise in developing connected services and technologies for global automakers makes this relationship invaluable,” said R.Velusamy, President of Automotive Technology & Product Development, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. “By using Data Insights with edge diagnostics for real-time data collection and analysis, we are confident that our collective efforts with Qualcomm Technologies will help revolutionize the testing cycle of current and next-generation Mahindra SUVs, ultimately helping our company achieve more seamless and cost-effective vehicle development.”
“We are excited to expand our relationship with Mahindra to now equip their vehicle testing and production with Data Insights with edge diagnostics from our cloud-connected services platform,” said Nakul Duggal, senior vice president and general manager, automotive & cloud computing, Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. “We are proud to work side-by-side and support Mahindra as they continue to develop and roll out its next-generation vehicles, as well as to continue delivering world-class driving experiences to their customers.”
