Qualcomm Brings Broadband Mobility to an Expanded Range of Devices

Company’s New Snapdragon Platform to be a Catalyst for Future Innovation in Computing and Consumer Electronics

Qualcomm Incorporated (Nasdaq: QCOM), a leading developer and innovator of advanced wireless technologies and data solutions, today announced a significant step toward realizing the Company's vision of universal mobility by introducing its Snapdragon™ platform. Snapdragon is designed to add expanded functionality to future generations of consumer electronics - from gaming/portable entertainment devices to pocket computers and beyond - by delivering ubiquitous mobile broadband access, together with unsurpassed processing performance and battery life. Qualcomm will be offering a family of Snapdragon-based chipsets that leverage the Company's long history of wireless innovations to help shape the future of mobility. Samsung Electronics, a leading provider and innovator of mobile phones, will be among the first device manufacturers to leverage Snapdragon for future devices.

“Qualcomm is driving a shift that is taking place in portable electronics by adding ubiquitous connectivity with zero compromise for the user experience to an extended range of devices,” said Dr. Sanjay K. Jha, president of Qualcomm CDMA Technologies. “The Snapdragon platform represents the next stage of mobility, opening the door to new opportunities.”

“Samsung has a long history of designing industry-leading devices that feature some of Qualcomm's most innovative technologies,” said Mr. Jongkyun Shin, executive vice president of the mobile R&D team of Samsung Electronics. “We are very excited at the prospect of raising the bar for mobility and breaking ground on new markets that do not exist today by leveraging the capabilities offered by Snapdragon.”

“The converging of multiple functions into a single mobile device has long been a trend in the market - people want to always be in touch and do everything they need, but not have to carry around too many gadgets,” said Will Strauss, president of Forward Concepts. “With the inherent strength the company has in mobile technology, Qualcomm is capable of delivering technology to help create a world where mobility exists without constraints.”

At the core of Snapdragon is the Scorpion™ 1GHz microprocessor, which offers unsurpassed mobile performance and power savings. Scorpion is paired with a 128 bit single-instruction, multiple-data capability and Qualcomm's next-generation 600 MHz digital signal processor to accelerate multimedia applications, further enhancing power efficiency for extended usage time. Snapdragon also delivers a broad array of mobile broadband capabilities, including CDMA2000/EV-DO, WCDMA (UMTS)/HSDPA/HSUPA, broadcast television and multimedia, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.

Snapdragon-based chipsets are scheduled to begin sampling in the third quarter of 2007. For more information on Snapdragon, visit www.cdmatech.com/snapdragon.
