Qualcomm Recognized Among America’s Leading Corporations for Employee Training and Development

Qualcomm Incorporated (Nasdaq: QCOM), a leading developer and innovator of Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) and other advanced wireless technologies, today announced that it was honored by both the American Society of Training and Development (ASTD) and Training magazine for its innovations in employee development.

ASTD selected Qualcomm as a winner of the organization's annual BEST Awards in recognition of Qualcomm's approach to individual development and its yearly internal technical conference, the QTech Forum. The ASTD BEST Awards honor organizations that demonstrate enterprise-wide success through employee learning and development.

“The winners set the standard of excellence for exceptional learning practices and demonstrate that a skilled workforce is vital to achieving results,” said Tony Bingham, ASTD's president and CEO. “The 2006 BEST winners use learning as a strategic tool and have the support of senior leaders who champion a learning culture.”

For the sixth year in a row, Qualcomm also was selected as one of Training magazine's “Top 100 Training Organizations in America.” As one of only two San Diego-based companies to receive the honor, Qualcomm was spotlighted for its unique approach to engineering development and innovative learning solutions. By holding internal tradeshows and technical conferences, as well as providing employees access to industry experts, Qualcomm enables its engineers to stay abreast of cutting-edge wireless technologies.
