Qualcomm's GlobalTRACS® Equipment Management Solution Named Among Best

Construction Equipment Magazine Names the GlobalTRACS Solution to Top 100 for Second Consecutive Year

Qualcomm Incorporated (Nasdaq: QCOM), a leader in providing business-to-business wireless solutions, today announced that the GlobalTRACS equipment management solution has been named to Construction Equipment magazine's Top 100 for the second consecutive year. The award highlights innovation from companies investing in the industry to offer products that provide increased efficiency, productivity and safety. Magazine editors review more than 1,200 product announcements before considering the nearly 600 that appear through the year and are then eligible for the award. Products that best showcase advances in technology or significant improvements to existing products are among those considered.

"Qualcomm is honored by this distinction from one of the top magazines in the industry," said Larry Cleary, senior director and general manager of construction equipment for Qualcomm Wireless Business Solutions. "The enhancement of the GlobalTRACS solution last year, and the recognition by industry leaders for that work, speaks to Qualcomm's continuing commitment to the construction equipment industry."

The GlobalTRACS solution collects, manages and transmits equipment operating status and location data, which can be accessed via an easy-to-use Web-based application or integrated into existing back-end business software systems. Engine hours information and data collected from critical systems monitoring helps companies to better schedule preventive and emergency maintenance, which in turn decreases equipment downtime and increases revenue. In addition to alerts about machine health, users can receive alerts when fuel is low.

The GlobalTRACS solution is designed to meet the demanding requirements of equipment manufacturers, OEMs and buyers, enabling factory or after-market installation on all equipment makes and models. With the GlobalTRACS solution, companies easily can spot unauthorized use as well as identify and re-deploy underutilized and idle equipment. Security management is also a key feature of the system, as GlobalTRACS allows users to create virtual boundaries.

Qualcomm is the industry's global leader in providing high-value wireless data solutions. Qualcomm has shipped more than 678,000 mobile systems to businesses in 39 countries on four continents. Processing more than 9 million data transactions daily, Qualcomm's Network Operations Centers are staffed by trained professionals 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
