Julie Cunningham to Retire As Head of Qualcomm Investor Relations

SAN DIEGO -- August 21, 2003 -- Qualcomm Incorporated (Nasdaq: QCOM), today announced that Julie Cunningham, senior vice president of investor relations, plans to retire from the Company effective September 5, 2003. Ms. Cunningham joined Qualcomm in 1994 and assumed her role in investor relations in 1997. She will be succeeded by Bill Davidson, who joined Qualcomm as vice president of global carrier relations for Qualcomm Internet Services in February 2002.

Mr. Davidson has more than 19 years' experience in the telecommunications industry and has spent a large portion of his career working closely with wireless carriers. Prior to joining Qualcomm, Davidson was senior vice president of corporate affairs and carrier relations at Aether Systems where he was a liaison to the wireless industry. He also brings to his new assignment 13 years of experience at Bell Atlantic in various positions in both the landline and wireless businesses, including serving as vice president of wireless data sales and marketing of Bell Atlantic Mobile.
