Qualcomm Files Suit Against Texas Instruments for Breach of Patent Portfolio Agreement

SAN DIEGO

SAN DIEGO - July 25, 2003 - Qualcomm Incorporated (Nasdaq: QCOM), pioneer and world leader of Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) digital wireless technology, today announced that it has filed suit against Texas Instruments Incorporated for breach of the Patent Portfolio Agreement which the companies signed in December 2000. The agreement covers both companies' patent portfolios, providing rights to each company to supply integrated circuits on a worldwide basis for all wireless standards. The complaint, filed on Friday in state court in Delaware, seeks damages and termination of Texas Instruments' rights under the agreement.
