Qualcomm Named to FORTUNE Magazine's "100 Best Companies to Work for in America" for the Fourth Consecutive Year

SAN DIEGO -- January 24, 2002 -- Qualcomm Incorporated (Nasdaq: QCOM), pioneer and world leader of Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) digital wireless technology, today announced that it was named one of FORTUNE magazine's "100 Best Companies to Work for in America," making it the fourth consecutive year with a jump to number 8 in the list ranking.

The rankings, which will appear in the February 4 issue of FORTUNE magazine, were compiled by FORTUNE with the help of Robert Levering and Milton Moskowitz, the best-selling authors of The 100 Best Companies to Work for in America. The list is based on the results of extensive research, analysis and a poll of more than 44,848 employees at 279 companies nationwide. More than 18,000 employees also provided written comments. The remainder of the score is based on FORTUNE's evaluation of company responses to the Great Place to Work Institute's Culture Audit.
