Qualcomm's Eudora Pro Supports Two Industry-Standard Email Security Protocols

SAN DIEGO November 25, 1998 Qualcomm Incorporated (NASDAQ: QCOM), pioneerand world leader of Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) digital wirelesstechnology, announced that Eudora Pro® Email now supports encryption andsecurity interfaces from both Entrust Technologies Inc. (NASDAQ: ENTU) andNetwork Associates (NASDAQ: NETA), leading vendors of email securitysoftware. Entrust's Entrust/Express™ 4.0 supports S/MIME and NetworkAssociates develops, manufactures and supports PGP, Internet protocols thatare in the process of standardization.

Both PGP and S/MIME provide encryption and decryption, and authenticationof senders using electronic signatures for email messages. Other emailsoftware supports either S/MIME or PGP. Eudora Pro, however, one of thebest known and most widely used email programs, supports both. Eudora ProEmail users in government, high-tech businesses and educationalinstitutions are excited by the increased security delivered by plug-insfor PGP and S/MIME. The plug-ins have simplified public key cryptography,making it accessible to all Eudora Pro Email users.
