Qualcomm Incorporated (NASDAQ: QCOM) today announced that it has signed one of baseball's all-time hitting greats San Diego Padre Tony Gwynn as a celebrity spokesperson. Under terms of the agreement, Gwynn will appear at select telecommunications industry trade shows and Qualcomm corporate events as Qualcomm's celebrity spokesperson. In addition, Qualcomm will team up with the Gwynns' charitable foundation to help sponsor charitable events during the next year.

The Qualcomm Kids program provides for sponsorship of 50 tickets for San Diego Padres and Chargers home games. Qualcomm distributes the tickets to local area organizations that support San Diego's youth.
During his 15-year career with the San Diego Padres, Gwynn has earned eight National League batting titles. Capturing the 1997 title last weekend gives Gwynn his fourth consecutive batting title.
