The United States District Court, Southern District of California has granted Motorola's application for a temporary restraining order insofar as its application rests on design patent infringement claims against Qualcomm. This order is in effect through April 23rd.
"This restraining order does not involve any of Qualcomm's CDMA Technology patents. It temporarily affects our newly developed "Q" phone only and we are confident that the court, once it has benefit of facts not available to it when this temporary restraining order was granted, will agree our "Q" phone does not infringe on anyone's design patents.
