Qualcomm Incorporated (NASDAQ: QCOM) today announced the formation of Qualcomm Kids, a joint charity partnership with the San Diego Padres focusing on organizations that support San Diego's youth with sponsorship of 51 bleacher seats for each Padres home game at the future Qualcomm Stadium.
"Qualcomm Kids represents an important partnership between two organizations which have established deep roots in charity sponsorship and community development in San Diego," said Harvey White, president of Qualcomm. "We are proud to be associated with the Padres and with a good cause in bringing San Diego kids out to enjoy a great San Diego team."
To date, organizations invited to participate in the Opening Week homestand include: Children's Hospital and Health Center, the YMCA and Make a Wish Foundation.
"Qualcomm's commitment will add value to the Padres' community programs and strengthen our relationship with area kids," said John Moores, owner of the San Diego Padres. "Qualcomm Kids will be a homerun for the Padres, Qualcomm and San Diego's youth."
The Qualcomm Kids program provides for a ticket purchase of 51 tickets for each Padres home game located in a newly created Qualcomm Kids section in center-right field. Qualcomm will distribute tickets to local area childrens groups throughout the year.
