Melton Truck Lines Replaces Existing Mobile Communications System with OmniTRACS

Qualcomm Incorporated (NASDAQ:QCOM) today announced that Tulsa, Okla.-based Melton Truck Lines will convert its existing mobile communications system to Qualcomm's OmniTRACS® system. Initial installation of 380 of the 500 OmniTRACS units, including SensorTRACS® driver performance monitoring, has begun.

"We believe Qualcomm is the industry leader with the best product on the market," stated Russ Elliott, director of operations for Melton. "The additional features Qualcomm has to offer, like SensorTRACS, will add to the basic mobile communications package and will provide more information than our current system. With Qualcomm's excellent track record and its emphasis on continually improving its product offerings, we look forward to putting OmniTRACS to work for us."

A company that places a strong emphasis on customer service, Melton carries a 99.6 percent on-time record and is available to its customers 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. "We made the decision over a year ago to purchase a mobile communications system because we knew it would aid in our ability to provide top notch customer service," stated Elliott.

"The decision to switch to Qualcomm came when we realized that the OmniTRACS system is a very driver and customer friendly system that would do far more than just improve customer service-it would improve our entire operation. We expect to benefit greatly from Qualcomm's technology."

"The use of basic mobile communications is becoming increasingly common," stated John Sarto, president of Qualcomm's OmniTRACS division. "But separating yourselves from the competition by providing more than just communications and position reports is the true challenge. We look forward to working with Melton and fulfilling its communications needs as well as improving its operational efficiencies."

Qualcomm is the world's leading provider of satellite communications, tracking and information management solutions to the trucking industry. Qualcomm has sold more than 185,000 OmniTRACS units worldwide, with systems operating in the United States, Canada, Europe, Brazil, Mexico, Japan, Malaysia and Korea.
