If your industrial applications call for premium-tier connectivity and processing capabilities which support longevity, take a look at the new Qualcomm QCS4490 and QCM4490 processors.

We’ve designed these solutions for a diverse range of designers and manufacturers of products such as industrial handhelds, point-of-sale devices, as well as control and automation panels for security systems.

Up to 3.6 Gbps peak speeds

The QCS4490 and QCM4490 processors offer Wi-Fi 6E, operating in the 6 GHz spectrum. Your applications can take advantage of Wi-Fi 6 multi-user, multiple-input, multiple output (MU-MIMO) and orthogonal frequency division multiple access (OFDMA) and 4K QAM, 160MHz channel support and unique 4-stream Dual Band Simultaneous (DBS) for reliable performance in congested areas, with multi-gigabit speeds of up to 3.6 Gbps.

Applications involving voice and video processing benefit from low latency, increased responsiveness, and smooth handoffs — even in device-crowded environments like retail stores, hospitals, and warehouses. The processors are ideal for applications with high-bandwidth features such as face-to-face customer support, large file transfers and over-the-air updates.

The QCM4490 processor also includes the fourth-generation 5G NR modem and ushers in the first 3GPP Rel. 16 5G solution for frequency bands below 6 GHz in the mid-tier. It meets the specifications of 3GPP Rel. 16 and offers truly global carrier support.

Powerful, efficient processing for the Internet of Things (IoT)

The processors include the Qualcomm Kryo central processing unit (CPU) which delivers ample power for on-device processing at the intelligent edge of the network. Kryo provides up to double the performance of the previous generation of CPU in a mid-tier package capable of the tasks required by industrial computing and handheld devices.

A built-in audio artificial intelligence accelerator improves the quality of voice communication and the accuracy of voice user interface. The image signal processor (ISP) hardware has been enhanced for higher-quality images.

Long platform life

The QCS4490 and QCM4490 processors include planned software support for Android releases 13 through 18 (subject to change without notice) to help you design products that will last well into the future.

Keep your development costs low by investing in just one IoT chipset for multi-year industrial design, development, and support from Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. as well as our original design manufacturers (ODMs).

Strong ecosystem support

We’re proud to have the support of several leading original equipment manufacturing (OEM) partners at launch:
