Cristiano Amon on the Lex Fridman podcast

If you follow Qualcomm and you’re a fan of the Lex Fridman podcast, don’t miss Episode #280 that just dropped. Research scientist and lecturer Lex Fridman is joined by Qualcomm Incorporated President and CEO Cristiano Amon to discuss (as described by Fridman in his tweet) “the company that leads the world in 5G communication and designs the computational brain inside most premium Android phones and other robots, including the helicopter that’s flying around Mars.”

Fridman’s background in science, which includes an emphasis in AI, along with his natural curiosity about all things technology and philosophy spark an exchange that uncovers informative insights on the impact of Qualcomm’s technologies. The Q&A with Amon showcases the CEO’s unique understanding of Qualcomm’s history and where the company is headed, as well as the breadth of its offerings and their effect on digital transformation around the world.

The discussion covers 5G (what it is and what are the various flavors), connectivity, IoT, Snapdragon Platforms, the company’s diversification into laptops and autonomous vehicles, and more. The only topic they disagreed on was football’s/soccer’s GOAT.

This would not be a conversation with a CEO if I did not ask questions that make you nervous…
