At Qualcomm Technologies, good is never good enough — for us or our customers. As a leading wireless technology innovator, we constantly drive progress to bring you the best technology solutions and experiences. Today, that pursuit comes in the form of initiating a new era of connectivity supporting both Wi-Fi 7 and next gen Bluetooth connectivity: Qualcomm FastConnect 7800, the world’s fastest and most versatile connectivity system.

Qualcomm Technologies is proud to be on the cutting edge of innovation in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity. Previous generations of FastConnect offered industry-leading connectivity, whether on mobile, compute, or XR platforms, and FastConnect 7800 continues that legacy of superior connectivity. We’re championing the industry transition to Wi-Fi 7 by bringing the first Wi-Fi 7 connectivity system to market and enabling the fastest and most responsive Wi-Fi speeds in the industry.

Whatever you’re doing online, you deserve the fastest and most responsive connection possible. FastConnect 7800 helps deliver the world’s fastest Wi-Fi — with peak speeds to 5.8 Gbps, which is 60 percent faster than previous generations. Additionally, FastConnect 7800 features the world’s lowest sustained latency – under two milliseconds – making gaming, video calling, and anything else you do online smoother than ever before. Whether you’re using a phone, laptop, or XR device, FastConnect is designed to ensure you get the connectivity needed for amazingly immersive experiences.

Wi-Fi 7 is bringing forth a new era of wireless connectivity, with features like 4k QAM, 320MHz channel bandwidth, and multi-link capabilities. Though, as with every standard, implementation is where truly differentiated performance is achieved. For example, multi-link can be implemented with simultaneous links or alternating links. Further, one of those links may be implemented using the narrow and congested 2.4GHz band (which could otherwise be reserved for Bluetooth or IoT devices). Design choices such as these will dictate how well your next devices will be able to harness Wi-Fi 7 speed and latency benefits, so Qualcomm Technologies’ approach is to offer a flexible solution that will include all the options.

With that said, FastConnect 7800 delivers an uncompromised approach to Wi-Fi 7 by implementing High Band Simultaneous (HBS) Multi-Link technology, which allows for multiple and simultaneous 5GHz and/or 6GHz connections. That means FastConnect 7800 can bring the full complement of multi-link capabilities, including the fastest and most responsive option, HBS Multi-Link, with two superhighways of simultaneous traffic for a host of advanced capabilities that make sustained low latency and wide channel bandwidth speeds more achievable. In addition to Wi-Fi 7, Qualcomm Technologies is applying this approach even with today’s Wi-Fi 6 and 6E networks by extending our renowned 4-stream Dual Band Simultaneous capabilities into the high bands.

FastConnect 7800 is a connectivity system for more than just Wi-Fi, though. It delivers superior wireless audio; Snapdragon Sound technology, Bluetooth LE Audio, and Bluetooth 5.3 get a significant boost with Intelligent Dual Bluetooth for two streams of premium audio. Dual Bluetooth means you get reliable CD lossless quality wireless audio, more immersive gaming experiences, and better connections overall. Additionally, Snapdragon Sound is optimized for real-world scenarios, so wherever you’re listening and whatever you’re listening to, you’ll have the sound quality you deserve.

With up to 2x faster pairing, the continuity of your connection is improved. And by reducing Bluetooth power consumption by up to 50 percent, you can jam out even longer. With an expanded connection range — up to twice as far as previous generations — you can let your dance party wander without skipping a beat.

Special attention was given to ensure that FastConnect 7800 maintains compatibility with all prior generation devices. Whatever generation of Wi-Fi or Bluetooth you’re using, FastConnect 7800 is built to give you the best connectivity. Sampling is already underway, with commercial availability rolling out in the second half of 2022. With FastConnect 7800, Qualcomm Technologies is proud to be first to welcome the world to a Wi-Fi 7 commercial solution – and raise the bar once again with next-gen wireless audio.
