Preamble puncturing in Wi-Fi 7 allows for a more efficient and flexible utilization of the spectrum in environments with wireless interference from overlapping Wi-Fi networks or non-Wi-Fi incumbents. In previous Wi-Fi generations, interference on the Wi-Fi channel would hinder transmissions from utilizing the remaining spectrum.
