Get to your app faster with vivo iQOO8 Pro’s Qualcomm 3D Sonic Max ultrasonic fingerprint sensor
The Android lock screen just got smarter.
Wish you could open your frequently used applications from the lock screen with just a single click? The wait’s over — now you can do just that, and with vault-like security, with Qualcomm 3D Sonic Max recently launched in vivo’s iQOO8 Pro, the first smartphone in China with Qualcomm 3D Sonic Max. Given the massive fingerprint sensor size, vivo was able to showcase a new experience that allows users to securely launch their most frequently used apps with an instant touch of the fingerprint sensor.
The default large area fingerprint sensor shown below can now be split into three secure regions. Each region unlocks the smartphone in a different mode based on the user’s choice.
As shown in the settings menu below, the user can choose two applications to appear directly on the lock screen and is also able to choose the layout in which they appear. The default large area sensor is reduced to a 17x17 mm2 area (which is still over 4x the size of Qualcomm 3D Sonic Gen-2) while the other regions can now house two additional applications that the user chooses to launch directly from the lock screen. These applications can be aligned either on the top, left, or right of the default sensor.
Thanks to the Qualcomm 3D Sonic Max’s large area ultrasonic fingerprint sensor, you can not only experience one of the fastest enrollment and unlocking experiences in the mobile industry, reading two fingerprints simultaneously, but also launch different applications instantly and with vault-like security from the Android lock screen.
