C. E. S. Together, those letters send technology aficionados into a state of digital bliss. Whatever tech you’re into, you can bet (and that’s encouraged in Vegas) that at CES 2016, it will be bigger, better, faster, sexier, and more powerful than ever before.
Remember, CES is a huge stage that has a history of serving as a North American launch pad for the next must-have tech toy. Don’t believe me? Here’s a small sample of what’s debuted at CES: the VCR, the Laserdisc player, camcorder, CD player, digital satellite system, HDTV, Microsoft Xbox, plasma TV, Blu-ray disc, OLED TV, Ultra HDTV, and smart TV.
At Qualcomm, we look forward to CES every year because we can’t wait to see what the future will bring. Over the last few years, we’ve been really excited about the show because we’re seeing growing interest in our mobile technologies and breakthroughs across a wide range of industries, particularly in the Internet of Things (IoT) arena—something we’ve anticipated for some time now.
Visit the Qualcomm Spaces
Going to CES 2016? If so, stop by and visit—we’ll be there:
- Central Hall (adjacent spaces #8643 and #8952): Discover the wide array of Qualcomm technologies used in products created by the companies we work with. (We often don’t build the cool products you see at CES—we create the connectivity and computing technologies that go inside those cool products to make them amazing.) See innovations in the IoT, healthcare, connected devices, wireless technologies, and more. And don’t miss the Qualcomm Invisible Museum—an interactive experience that brings to life the often-hidden Qualcomm technologies that are changing people’s lives everywhere, every day. Also, meet the winning team of the first season of the Qualcomm #WhyWait Invent-Off.
- North Hall (#915): Car geeks rejoice! We’ll be showing off our latest and greatest connected car technologies, wireless electric vehicle charging, and exciting demos from other auto industry leaders in the Qualcomm Automotive Solutions space.
- South Hall (#25824): What’s a technology show without robots? We’ll be showing off a few, along with our mobile robotics technology. This is also your chance to check out the Qualcomm Snapdragon Drone Development Platform and the Snapdragon Flight—the first drone-specific development board based on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 series processor.

To get the latest information about what Qualcomm is showing, when and where Qualcomm executives—including CEO Steve Mollenkopf and Executive Chairman Paul Jacobs—will be appearing, or simply figure where the heck you are on the show floor, be sure to download the Qualcomm Insights Events App from the Apple App Store or Google Play. You’ll find interactive maps, guided audio tours, augmented reality features, and more. Check it out even if you’re not going to CES—it’s full of great news and info.
So like every year, the burning question is, what’s going to be hot? No one can answer that with 100 percent certainty, but we’ve heard that drones are at the top of the list—again. (Bigger, better, faster, sexier, and more powerful than ever before?) There’s only one way to find out for sure—be at CES 2016 in Las Vegas, January 6 to 9.
One last bit of advice: Don’t bet on red. Don’t bet on black. Bet on the future.
