Quick Charge 2.0 vs. conventional chargers: see the difference

For the past year you’ve heard how Qualcomm Quick Charge 2.0 can charge devices up to 75% faster than a conventional charger. In the Quick Charge spirit of saving you time, instead of reading the manual, you can watch this video to see what it’s all about.

The three smartphones in the video are identical Nexus 6 smartphones, right down to the mighty 3220 mAh batteries. Generally speaking, the larger the battery, the longer it takes to charge.

In the video you see just how long it takes to charge the battery from 0% to 50% with conventional chargers (5 volts/1 amp and 5 volts/ 2 amps). And just how much faster going from 0% to 50% with a Quick Charge 2.0 charger is.

To get the awesome Qualcomm Quick Charge 2.0 experience you’ll need two things: a device that’s certified Quick Charge 2.0 (find a list of Qualcomm Snapdragon processor powered devices here) and a charger that’s certified Quick Charge 2.0 (list here.). The Nexus 6 in the video features the Quick Charge 2.0 certified Motorola Turbo Charger.

If you’re still on the fence about getting a device with Qualcomm Quick Charge 2.0, don’t take our word for it—check out what others had to say at Lifehacker, Droid-Life, Pocket-Lint, Anandtech, and PocketNow, to name a few, and learn more at our Quick Charge page.
