What's Next in Mobile Development?

If you think about where the mobile landscape was just five years ago, the difference is mind blowing. Recent research shows that 91% of American adults carry a cell phone and 55% carry a smartphone. And what are people doing with those smartphones? Well, Juniper Research thinks that by 2017 there will be over 160 billion app downloads. And as we know, that’s not just smartphones, but tablets and wearables and other connected devices. Things continue to change in mobile, but the question is how are you keeping up?

We’ll be discussing all of this and more during the Mobile Trends tracks at Qualcomm® Uplinq™ 2014. These sessions will help you get out of the day-to-day grind of problem solving to get a broader view of the mobile industry and where it’s going. For example, did you know that approximately 60% of new cars shipped in 2017 will be connected through mobile technology (source: ABI, 2013, Gartner, Jan. ’14)? And it’s not just cars. In our homes and cities, the worldwide installed base of smart meters is expected to grow to 1.1 billion by 2022. It’s good to get a handle on what all that growth means for you right now.

So, if you want to stay ahead of what’s next and prepare yourself for future demands, Qualcomm Uplinq 2014 is the place to be.
