HTC One to come with Google Nexus experience

HTC One stock Android

Starting June 26, Google will offer a special edition of the HTC One with a “Nexus user experience” through the Google Play store. The phone will still be powered by the Qualcomm® Snapdragon™ 600 processor and feature the gorgeous all-metal unibody design.

What does the Nexus version of the HTC One have to offer? Similar to the stock Android version of the Samsung GALAXY S4, also arriving June 26, running pure Android on the HTC One comes with a few differences:

  • Apps: It will come pre-installed with just a handful of core apps so you have the apps you need and can add the apps you want.
  • Features: As an open-source phone you’ll be able to change several features to make it your own–everything from menus to icons, animations and more.
  • Updates: Google will deliver prompt Android updates, similar to how it treats its Nexus line of phones, so you’ll always have the latest version running on your phone.

This special edition will be available for $599 in the United States and supported on GSM networks.
