Abby Cadabby and AllJoyn™ make a splash at CES

Big Bird has already made news at the 2013 Consumer Electronics Show.  But his new app, Big Bird’s Words, isn’t the only product Sesame Workshop is demonstrating at the huge tech trade show.

In the Qualcomm booth, Sesame is showing off Abby’s Fairy Rock, an app that uses  AllJoyn peer-to-peer technology from Qualcomm Innovation Center, Inc. to help children explore music.

The app features popular Sesame Street character Abby Cadabby. It is installed in two places – a mobile device and a Snapdragon™ Processor powered Internet TV.

Using the mobile device, the child picks a costume and instrument for Abby.  Each selection instantly appears on the TV screen.

A child can even snap a picture of themself, and have it appear on the avatar that plays on the TV along with Abby.

Once the band is set up, the cellphone or tablet turns into a virtual guitar, which the child uses to strum along with Abby.

The app is still in development but could become available as soon as the second half of 2013.
