Qualcomm Wireless Health Gets a New Life!

Just before Thanksgiving, I wrote about the challenges medical device makers face in integrating wireless technologies into their solutions, and the need for a cost-effective, reliable wireless health ecosystem that enables app developers, device makers, health service companies and analytics companies to collaborate without worrying about interoperability and integration.

I also alluded to some exciting developments from the team.

Today, I am thrilled to announce that Qualcomm Wireless Health is now Qualcomm Life, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Qualcomm Incorporated whose mission is to define and connect the global wireless health network to improve lives and bring medical devices to life.

As our first step in fulfilling that mission, today we are also announcing the launch of the 2net™ Platform and Hub. The 2net Platform is a newly designed, technology-agnostic cloud-based service designed to enable interoperability for our customers’ wireless medical devices, making information easily accessible for device companies and ultimately device users and their healthcare providers and caregivers. The 2net™ Hub is an FDA-listed Class I MDDS device, that’s a compact plug-and-play connectivity gateway onto the 2net Platform’s data center that enables our customers to quickly and easily access solutions for launching wireless medical devices or combining devices for health management products.
