Qualcomm is committed to fostering open, welcoming, and inclusive communities across our open source projects.

As part of that commitment, Qualcomm is moving to formally adopt the Contributor Covenant Code of Conduct as the standard code of conduct for our open source projects hosted on github.com/qualcomm and related repositories

The Contributor Covenant is a widely used code of conduct in the open source ecosystem. It provides a clear framework for setting expectations around respectful and constructive participation, helping contributors, maintainers, and community members understand how to engage productively with one another.

Historically, many Qualcomm open source projects have already operated under the Contributor Covenant or under codes of conduct closely aligned with it. This announcement formalizes and standardizes that practice across our open source portfolio so that contributors and maintainers have consistent expectations across projects.

As part of this rollout, individual projects may reference the Contributor Covenant directly or include project-specific reporting and enforcement details, while maintaining alignment with the Covenant’s core principles.

Why this matters

Open source communities work best when expectations are clear. A shared code of conduct helps support healthy collaboration, makes participation more welcoming, and gives maintainers a common reference point for encouraging constructive discussion and addressing unacceptable behavior when needed.

By adopting a standard that is already familiar to many open source contributors, Qualcomm is reinforcing a consistent approach across projects while continuing to allow each project to provide the reporting and enforcement information needed for its own community.

What happens next

Once adoption has been fully rolled out across our open source projects, Qualcomm plans to add itself to the Contributor Covenant adopters list, alongside other open source projects and organizations that have made the same commitment.

We appreciate the contributions of our community and believe that clear, shared standards help support productive collaboration and healthy open source communities.
