Smart Service system for the visually Impaired

May 24, 2024 | 8:57

Smart Service system for the visually impaired

This project seeks to develop a smart connected wearable for persons for blindness and low-vision.  The platform, VIS4ION (Visually Impaired Smart Service System for Spatial Intelligence and Onboard Navigation) includes strap mounted cameras connected to an embedded system for computational analysis. Real-time feedback is provided through a binaural bone conduction headset haptic waist strap.  In this talk, we will discuss potential use of the Qualcomm Snapdragon for performing AI and vision computations on the device as well as high-speed 5G to access data and computationally powerful cloud processing.

Qualcomm relentlessly innovates to deliver intelligent computing everywhere, helping the world tackle some of its most important challenges. Our leading-edge AI, high performance, low-power computing, and unrivaled connectivity deliver proven solutions that transform major industries. At Qualcomm, we are engineering human progress.
