Medical, security and auto projects
For a number of years, the edge has captivated the imagination in academic research and is fast gaining validation in the commercial domain. The advancements in low-power computing and AI hardware have accelerated the pervasiveness of intelligence at the edge (including deep edge). In this presentation, we will explore some implementations across several domains using Qualcomm platforms, including biomedical, security and automotive. Exploring anomalies in the human brain and IoT have much in common. StarTrek tech is now becoming a reality with some outstanding AI-assisted universal stethoscope. ADAS systems for obstacle detection (such as bridge clearance) and robots for search and rescue applications perfectly match some Qualcomm platforms. Autonomous car platforms like F1Tenth provide an excellent framework for testing automotive-grade sensing and control algorithms. Finally, Snapdragon-powered AR and VR are gaining acceptance in many applications, including education. Recent results in the biomedical domain will be reviewed, and future work will be outlined.
