We’ve packed our bags and left Barcelona, but we’re still talking about the 2016 Mobile World Congress (MWC) and the success of so many of the OEMs that use Qualcomm Snapdragon technology in their devices. They topped more “Best of MWC” lists than we could count, including those from Android Authority, Engadget, Digital Trends, Mobile Geeks, and Android Pit.
Here’s a sampling of the great stories about our OEMs and their latest products powered by Snapdragon processors:
“It’s the closest thing to a ‘flagship killer’ we’ve ever seen from Alcatel. With its Quad HD resolution 5.5-inch screen, Snapdragon 652 processor, 3GB RAM and stereo front (and back) firing speakers, there’s very little it doesn’t offer.” — 9to5 Google, Idol 4 and 4S impressions: Hands-on with Alcatel’s premium metal and glass mid-rangers [Video]
“HP's first smartphone in nearly two years is a Windows phone designed for business customers… The HP Elite x3 may end up being the first smartphone to actually replace your computer.” — CNET, HP’s Elite x3 smartphone wants to replace your computer
“The Le 1S and Le Max Pro are beautiful products, with the kind of design and specifications that will turn heads. The Le Max Pro was the first smartphone announced that uses the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820, and its edge-to-edge screen is genuinely stunning.” — Alphr, LeEco wins Alphr’s Most Innovative Company Award at MWC 2016
"LG has… hit the gas straight into the future with a fascinating and exciting ecosystem of modules along with a high-powered smartphone. It represents the best of MWC innovation in 2016 and the clearest idea of where phone technology may go in the coming years." —Digital Trends, Top Tech of MWC 2016 Award Winners
"Put simply, [the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge is] the 2016 smartphone-of-the-moment you should buy, because it does everything you could want, and compromises less." — Digital Trends, Top Tech of MWC 2016 Award Winners
“The fact that Xiaomi could include a Snapdragon 820, 128GB of on-board storage, a fingerprint reader, 4GB of RAM and a 16MP Sony IMX298 camera sensor for this price point is just unbelievable… Xiaomi hit the ball out of the park with the Mi 5 Pro, which is why we included it on our Best of MWC 2016 list.” — Android Authority, Best of MWC 2016: The Most Impressive Products From the Show!
We’re also proud of all the great press about our Snapdragon 820 processor:
“The reason for ebullience from Qualcomm's partners is obvious the moment you pick up a Snapdragon 820 phone: these devices are wicked fast.” — The Verge, Qualcomm is back with a vengeance
And if you thought that we were represented at MWC solely by smartphones, think again—the new Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 2100 processor, designed specifically for wearables, will be powering AiQ’s smart leggings:
“It's interesting to see that the company sees a future for its new processor away from the wrist and it could lead to some really exciting, groundbreaking wearables that are not smartwatches.” — Wareable, Qualcomm smart leggings could be a football manager’s best friend
