Qualcomm Incorporated (Nasdaq: QCOM), a leading developer and innovator of advanced wireless technologies, products and services, today announced that it has appointed Steve Crout as vice president of government affairs in Qualcomm’s Washington, D.C. office, where he will assist in the development and implementation of federal policy strategies for the company.
Crout joins Qualcomm from Motorola Inc., where he was director of global government affairs and spearheaded the development of a new company federal R&D program focused on wireless technologies. He began his career as legislative director for Rep. Bill Richardson (D-N.M.) and was responsible for managing all of the congressman’s legislative activity, including issues before the U.S. House of Representatives Energy and Commerce Committee. Crout went on to serve in the Clinton Administration at the U.S. Department of Energy, holding such positions as senior advisor for Congressional and Intergovernmental Affairs and associate director of the Office of Policy.

Crout holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from Rollins College and a master’s degree in environmental sciences and policy from Johns Hopkins University.
