Qualcomm to Equip Waberer’s Fleet of 2,200 Vehicles with Telematics Solution

OmniExpress Mobile Information System to Provide Increased Efficiency and Improved Service at Hungary's Leading Transport Company

Qualcomm Enterprise Services Europe BV, a wholly owned subsidiary of Qualcomm Incorporated (Nasdaq: QCOM), a leading provider of integrated wireless systems and services to transportation, logistics and service fleet companies, and Waberer’s International Zrt., Hungary’s leading transport company and one of the twenty largest freight firms in Europe, today announced Warberer’s will equip its entire fleet of 2,200 vehicles in Hungary and Romania with the OmniExpress® telematics solution. The transport company will also use Qualcomm’s Web-based FleetVisor™ platform to manage its fleet of vehicles.

Using the integrated OmniExpress system’s on-board computer with the vehicle’s digital tachograph, Waberer’s will be able to monitor driver and vehicle activities remotely. The OmniExpress system collects relevant information on vehicle position, driver behaviour and fuel consumption and transmits the data to Qualcomm’s network management centre through GPRS, where it is made available to Waberer’s staff through the FleetVisor Services portal. The OmniExpress system will help Waberer’s to optimise its processes and improve its customer service by providing the location information and subsequent progress in-route, thus, allowing Waberer’s to provide its customers anticipated loading and unloading times and expected delivery times for freight.

The FleetVisor Services portal is fully integrated with Waberer’s TMS system, enabling Waberer’s to improve the efficiency of administrative work required for fleet operations and management. Office staff will have daily access to data on operational productivity and efficiency in areas such as fleet utilisation, fuel consumption and vehicle and driver costs, as well as information on driving and working time regulations. This relevant information can be accessed in the form of individual diagrams, tables and filters at all times, enabling deliveries to be planned and calculated well in advance.
