Qualcomm Appoints Greg Farmer Vice President of Government Affairs and Head of Washington, D.C. Office

Farmer Brings More Than 25 Years of Private and Public Sector Experience

Qualcomm Incorporated (Nasdaq: QCOM), a leading developer and innovator of advanced wireless technologies, products and services, today announced the appointment of Greg Farmer as vice president of government affairs. Farmer will lead Qualcomm's office in Washington, D.C.

“I am very pleased to welcome Greg Farmer to Qualcomm,” said Bill Bold, senior vice president of government affairs for Qualcomm. “His extensive legislative and political experience, combined with several years in the telecommunications industry, makes him a tremendous choice to lead Qualcomm's efforts in Washington, D.C.”

Most recently, Farmer served as senior vice president of global government relations and international trade at Nortel. Prior to Nortel, Farmer was nominated by President Clinton and confirmed by the U.S. Senate as Under Secretary of Commerce. He also served as Secretary of Commerce for the State of Florida and was responsible for promoting a comprehensive economic development program for the state. Farmer is on the boards of the Telecommunications Industry Association, the Business Council for International Understanding and the Center for National Policy. Farmer holds a bachelor's degree in political science from Florida International University and a master's degree in communications from Florida State University.
