Qualcomm Opens Office in Dubai Internet City

New Hub Centralizes Qualcomm’s Middle East and North Africa Operations in Supporting Regional Wireless Partners

Qualcomm Incorporated, a leading developer and innovator of advanced wireless technologies and data solutions, today affirmed its commitment to the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) markets with the opening of a new branch office in Dubai. The office, located in the Dubai Internet City (DIC) Free Trade Zone, will serve as a hub for Qualcomm's regional business interests and will provide support for device manufacturers, network operators and other industry participants that are driving the area's fast growing mobile broadband market.

“The MENA region is witnessing impressive growth in both the quantity and quality of telecommunication services,” said Jing Wang, executive vice president of Qualcomm Asia Pacific and Middle East/Africa. “This growth has created a healthy and competitive business environment that is giving consumers increased access to wireless services at progressively lower prices. For more than 20 years, Qualcomm has provided the technical expertise and products to help its partners thrive in the global wireless communications market. Our new office in Dubai enables Qualcomm to serve the region more effectively and we are very pleased to expand our presence in this exciting market.”

Dubai has established itself as a hub for telecommunication activities in the MENA region, and DIC is widely viewed as the hub's center. Launched in 2000, DIC now features a dynamic international community of ICT companies from a variety of sectors - Software Development, Business Services, Web-based and e-Commerce, Consultancy, Sales and Marketing and Back Office. A number of Qualcomm's technology ecosystem partners also have established locations in DIC, further enhancing the ecosystem's collaborative capabilities in the region.

Qualcomm is creating solutions that are making wireless services more personal, affordable and accessible to people everywhere. Through its 70 offices located across the globe, Qualcomm is working with more than 150 partners to help transform the way people communicate and interact with the world around them. The company's commitment to serving the diverse needs of its partners is reflected in its expanded presence in Dubai.
