Qualcomm Congratulates Hutch on the Launch of BREW™ Services to Subscribers in Thailand

Qualcomm Incorporated (Nasdaq: QCOM), pioneer and world leader of Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) digital wireless technology, congratulates Hutchison CAT MultiMedia Limited, the marketing service provider of the latest CDMA2000 1X technology in Thailand under the brandname "Hutch," on the launch of enhanced wireless data services based on Qualcomm's BREW system to its subscribers in Thailand.

BREW-enabled services will supplement Hutch's popular high-speed wireless multimedia offering, allowing its subscribers to download games, ring tones, and other personal and business applications wirelessly to their mobile devices. Hutch's existing CDMA2000 1X wireless high speed multimedia technology is able to offer individual customers as well as enterprises high-speed wireless data access, compelling wireless applications, mobile multimedia and a wide variety of feature-rich BREW-enabled devices.

Qualcomm's BREW system provides products and services that connect the mobile marketplace value chain, which includes application developers, publishers, content providers, device manufacturers, operators and consumers.

Publishers and developers worldwide are generating revenue from BREW-based applications and content and 19 manufacturers have offered more than 90 BREW-enabled device models to consumers. Hutch joins many very successful operators around the world that have deployed commercial BREW-based wireless data services, including Verizon Wireless, ALLTEL, Cellular One, Midwest Wireless and U.S. Cellular in the United States, China Unicom, KDDI in Japan, KTF in South Korea, Telstra in Australia, VIVO in Brazil, BellSouth International in Colombia and BellSouth International in Panama.

Hutchison CAT Wireless MultiMedia Co., Ltd. is a joint venture between the CAT Telecom Public Company Limited and Hutchison Wireless MultiMedia Holdings Limited. The company holds a contract to provide marketing services for digital CDMA mobile telephone services in 25 provinces in Thailand. The services include voice and advanced data applications with an emphasis on leading edge, state-of-the-art services and products.
