Qualcomm Wireless Business Solutions Announces Agreement with Maptuit

SAN DIEGO -- June 10, 2002 -- Qualcomm Incorporated (Nasdaq: QCOM), the leader in providing mobile communications solutions to the transportation industry, today announced an agreement with Maptuit Corporation to offer Maptuit's FleetNav suite of services to its OmniTRACS® mobile communications system unit customers. FleetNav is a navigation system designed to provide truckload carriers with street-level text directions using the vehicle's current position via Qualcomm's OmniTRACS system.

With Maptuit's model of the U.S. road network and enhanced data that supports the specific needs of the transportation marketplace, Maptuit's service offers routes that provide the most efficient way to travel on roads anywhere in the United States. Maptuit's FleetNav Alert module helps customers know exactly when trucks leave their assigned routes with real-time alerts that enable operators to better control their fleets' performance and costs.

"Maptuit has brought to market a navigation system that runs over existing Qualcomm mobile data terminals. FleetNav will enable our customers to enhance the functionality of their OmniTRACS system units by offering drivers least cost routes and door-to-door directions directly from the cab to minimize wasted time and miles, and improve safety," said Glynn Spangenberg, vice president of truckload business operations for Qualcomm Wireless Business Solutions. "Qualcomm's mobile communications solutions help carriers improve productivity and increase operating efficiencies while providing safe transportation on the nation's highways."

"Using our FleetNav service, dozens of truckload carriers throughout the country have shown significant savings by reducing operating costs and improving on-time delivery performance commitments," said Jeff Papows, CEO, Maptuit. "This agreement will enable us to accelerate our deployment of FleetNav to Qualcomm's U.S.-based OmniTRACS system-enabled vehicles."
